baybeats was fuckentastic. was present for all 3 days. 2 major things stirred the emotions in me. firstly, this band, remember the name people, Man Under Zero Effort. goodness gracious me. never have i witnessed a band, and be blown away by it all in a mere few minutes. intense rabak. the guitar works. the romping-stomping of the drums. the heartfelt pain in the vocalist's voice, screams out sincere emotions and feelings to you the listener. watchin him twiddle tat red guitar and swinging it high-in-the-air-like-you-just-dont-care emo style. coupled with the excellent sound systems of the main arena (well at least to my humble ears the sound was good), it was a blast. one of the highlights of the entire pesta BAYBEATS. i got the split cd release from them, and listening to it, gosh, makes me want to do jumping jacks and sit-ups till i burst. try to get hold of some of their shit yeah. i cant imagine the consequences if the band  recorded in a totally high-budget expensive professional studion somewhere in iceland or sumtin. konferm dpt lima O tuan tuan dan puan puan. whipping up some wild shits for y'all.

the other highlight was of course, watchin FORCE VOMIT. yea yea. my bro's band. so sue me. i wear the FV heart on my sleeves. their performance, was damn excellent. tight tight, very tight. juz the soundmen had to screw it all up for them. if not, the band was indestructable tat nite. i have never seen such a huge turnout for their performance in our local shores before. oh so many people. not even standing room was left. seeing all those faces in the crowd, clapping, singing, laughing to his stage antics, well almost triggered emotions in this numb mind of mine. i cant help but feel proud of him. my elder brother. he's come a long long way. the journey from the start has always been oh so rocky. the abuse. the jeers. the disrespect. the lies. deceit. labelled cocky and stuck-up and wat-have-you-nots. to finally be where the band is at now, he totally deserves it. it was never easy, never been easy. im sure he had to battle his own demons. for them to unleash their new song 'Rising of the seond sun' at such a venue with such a turnout. still filled with the basic rocking licks, with no tinge emo-ness (wouldnt we love for tat to happen eh kids?). 10 years of their existence here in Singapura. to be where they are now. they've come a long long way. this an ode to my favorite band. Force Vomit.
