yeah, 3 months after that Amazing nite in Istanbul, last nite was the start of Liverpool's European title defence.After wiping off the tahi-mata at 2.30am, seeing the line-up before the game reallly woke me up.No Stevie G, no Steve Finnan, no Didi, no Djibril. Instead Senor Benitez put his trust in the Spanish imports and Monsieur Sinama-Pongolle.Also not forgetting Peter Crouching tiger hidden dragon. Ha. I really tot that the gaffer was set on a draw for this game but we started the game brightly. And 2 mins into the game, Liverpool took the lead through a pretty chip by Florent S-P. And then 20 mins later, great work by Peter Crouch saw Luis Garcia put Pool 2-nil up. And there i tot, well Benitez did it again, but 2nd half was a totally different game. Betis got a goal, and we looked very poor in defence, especially Hyppia, who played badly in the 2nd half. Bolo Zenden looked like a pudgier Harry Kewell, thank goodness he came on a free transfer. Overall, i tot that we really got away with the win. But a win is a win. So on to this Sunday.Man United. Bloody hell, its been a while that we beat them in the league, its our time this Sunday.
