Family appearance in OK Magazine

Yea so if you've noticed, the Abdul Hadi Inc were featured in yesterday's Lifestyle section of the Sunday Times page 4, with the matriarch herself the main feature. We, just the pelakon tambahans, trying to look as if in deep conversation but in actual fact, we were all juz posing. Eye coordination were totally off. Thanx to Pau Lin for writing the dope article and Mister Giam for the Lumix cam.

Did you know? Our baju kurung matched our newly painted walls.

CD fashizzlessssss

BAND : FRANZ FERNANDES
TITLE : You could have it so much better

The sophomore effort after the explosive debut album, i find that this album is a tad mellow as compared to the first one. We even have a ballad here, but dont get me wrong, anything by these fearsome foursome should be gulped down with much eagerness. But dont worry, their mission of making the girls want to do the boogie woogie listening to their songs can still be accomplished.

Their poppish infectious first single "Do you want to" currently flooding MTV ensures that they remain true to their style of boogie woogie muzak. Makes you want to tear off your power suites and tuxedoes and just dance in your jock-straps or bra n panties. Makes you want to do the ditty. It brings me back to the heydays of the britpop invasion in the mid nineties of Blur, Pulp, Radiohead and Supergrass.

2 tragic ballads really brought me to emo world. "Walk away" is about you standing tall after a failed relationship, having the strength and courage to pick yourself up and just forget abt it and walk away. But i found the chorus, Alex Kapranos overdid it by repeating the Walk Away line a wee bit too much.

The next sweet ballad is "Eleanor put your boots on". Apparently Mister Kapranos has joined a league of songsters and penned a song for his loved one. Cant exactly remember which band eleanor fronts, but nonetheless, the song sounds very much like a Beatles tune. I'd say this can be seen both as a compliment and a ripoff. Compliment as they are being compared to the legendary Beatles. Ripoff as in they are trying to sound like the Beatles. But that's the thing abt comparisons. It is a double edged sword. Whichever way you see it, it can be positive or negative, depending on which side of the fence you are on. To me, this band will be legends themselves and kickstart the whole britpop scene again.

All in all, this album gets 4 / 5 charkueys (yum yum, food sure makes me hungry at times like these)
