New Police Story Starring Jackie Chan + Nicholas TseYou might be wondering why i decided to watch this movie at a movie theatre in Balestier.For this reasons.Movie tickets:5 bux Transport expenses:Free(pillion) Watching Jackie chan slide down a building using handcuffs and a rope: Priceless.
The plot of the movie is predictable but with some fresh twists. SI Chan and his whole team got ambushed by a bunch of rich kids who rob banks for the fun of it.They also happen to be trigger-happy and kill cops for points cuz the leader of the X-gamers(yeap their lame grp name) has issues with his own dad who himself is a cop.So JC drowns himself in alcohol cuz he feels guilty for the deaths of his teamates. In comes Nicholas Tse(impressively he did most of his own stunts ) who impersonates himself as a cop, who helps JC overturn his drinking problem, patch up with his fiancee and hunt down the bad guys + 1 especially hot bad girl. As you would expect in any Jackie Chan movie, there are amazing stunts involving a double-decker bus, a LEGO store and rooftop vert ramp.As you would predict, they got the bad guy and towards the end the audience at last got why nicholas tse's character helped JC in catching the bad guys. The outakes are quite funny even though i had no idea wat they were saying as subtitles were not present in them.All in all, i rate this movie a 3.5 out of 5. This movie would fall into a category i call second choice movie. So for all of yous who cant get tickets to Dodgeball, go ahead and watch this but u have to more than i did. Or else just wait for channel 8 to air it during chinese new year specials. I must say that HK female officers look especially cute in their uniforms than our local gals.

DODGEBALL

GRAB LIFE BY THE BALL. A true gung-ho spirit sets up the theme of this comedy, starring the ever irritatingly lovable Ben Stiller of countless morbid comedies. A brief intro of the story. Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn, the name Fleur sounds very pseudo french, reminds me of Fleur Delacour to all u fellow Harry Potter fans out there) is the normal average overweight yankee. Ironically enough, he owns Average Joe's gym. White Goodman (Ben Stiller), is the new kid on the block, the typical evul owner of a massive global conglomerate, owner of Globo Gym. And so White wants to take over Average Joe's, which is just across the street and turn it into a multi-storey carpark for his clients and employees. And with Average Joe's in the red, with back-end debts not settled, Peter might just have to give it up. Unless of course he coughed the dough of US$50 Gees. And so it happens there was Dodgeball comp goin on and the top prize was of course, US$50 grand.
And so we follow the meteoric rise of the Average Joe's dodgeball team climb their way up and surprise surprise, Globo Gym sent itself a team in order to crush Average Joe's team. The Purple Cobras consist of Lazer, Blazer, Blade, and a bad-ass black man named Michelle. You'd shit in ur pants if you were to face them.
This is a very hilarious comdey of the underdogs making good, with an underlying theme of big evul MNC trying to swallow up small-fry competition using gangster tactics. A good way to just turn off, relax urself after a hard week and watch a movie which doesnt require you think and get stressed out abt the plot. Also look out for guest-appearances by the legendary Chuck Norris (of current Walking Texas Ranger fame) and not so legendary David Hasselhoff (aka Michael Knight aka Mitch Buccanan).

Truely worth your $8.50 . Or $7.50.

I had been going through our archives and yeah, i have typed out so many foolish things that i shouldnt have and in certain entries, maybe i should have typed more.HA.As i think about wat to type, i have been blog-hopping and i must say, Killersherpa, is by far the most brilliant blog.HAHA. Without realising it, i have missed the big date I've been waiting for. The first anniversary of this blog. This blog was first unveiled to the masses and the media and al-jazeera on the 8th September 2003. It already has been year me and me homie been entertaining the world with our colorful take of life, the good, bad and the 3- d blasphemy, coupled with our own references and takes in life and from our very own watchful eyes. Never thought we'd join in the blog bandwagon, but we did. Yes we sold out. Hah.

Nevertheless, today is also another day to remember. Hari ini dlm sejarah (ala those mini malaysian clips after the 6pm news), marks our 1year anniversary of serving our beloved motherland Singapura in our quest of National Slavery. Forced, i mean, 'voluntarily' called upon to answer the call of our motherland, it has been an interesting experience this phase we're goin thru. Never thought i'd go thru NS, always hoping it'd be abolished before my turn, but it never did. Those care-free days of being wild are gone. In comes responsibility and money for reservists, and what have you not. From thin frail me being a trainee aka mangkuks, to corporals and still thin frail me with a paunch. Pejam celik, its been a year. Another 1yr and 4mths of shit and laughter, all at the same time (the irony) to go thru.

Our lines have crossed again, with God's grace. Here's to you partner, with another 16mths to go. For future shit happenings. And to you readers, if even any at all, stay tuned for more adventures in mono.

From the early mins of the first track Jacqueline, you might be put off by it, thinking this is gonna be another waste of ur precious dollar$. But let it continue after the ramblings, and you will hear DA most excellent for 2004 so far.
I'd say at first listen, to describe the sound of the band in simplest of terms, it sounds very much like early blur (parklife era with its bopping popping feel-good tunes) coupled with jarvis cocker on vox. Others, like the intro of Take me out, it does sound similar to the rocking tunes of the Strokes.
For all those abang2 CD firemen, i dont think track 7 will appeal to you . (This fire is out of control, im going to BURN this city, BURN this city..)
All in all, a good 40+ mins of music. Spend ur last 18bux on this aight.

There i was face-to-face; mano-e-mano;pingpong bat-tinyOrangeball-pingpong bat. On one side of the table is me n my partner, on the other side was my colleague n his partner, my boss. The head honcho. Numero Dos in the current hierachy at my workplace.Being Number 2 is still very powerful.
The game started cautiously with both sides being very defensive, not wanting to make silly mistakes. Smack after smack,cut after cut, me n my partner were winning. Then i tot to myself, heck should i beat my boss at a friendly game of tabletennis? Ha..........It was to be a race to 11 points n my team had already won. But we just kept on playing...I wasnt going to be the one to tell my boss that he lost and say "next better player please'. The hilarious thing was that no one else who were waiting for their turn to play said anything. They just watched as my team kept winning points but no one was keeping score. Then it happened. I hit a shot which would have made Li Jiawei proud and ask me to be her doubles partner. Then Number 2 said ' wah good....Eh wats da score ah?...i think we play one more set ah.....' Thrashed him n his partner again.....hahaha

By the way, i will be one of the many working peeps that will be sleeping in this Saturday morning. 5 day-work week is da shiznits.....
