oh yes. congrats to lions. or is it tigers? (this being tiger-nation and all) finally another 'WORLD CUP' to be added along side by side with all the milo cup, ovaltine cup and wat nots. but i tell ya, we still need tat elusive SEA games gold medal.

That grand final of the champions of world champions series, was great. couldnt remember when was the last time such a huge turnout. My best bet was prob the last few games of the defunct (?) FAM league. Supposed to meet at 6 to get our ROAR LIONS ROAR MOTHERFUCKERS tee, but ended up reachin the stadium only at 7. Semangat merah kata kan. But i was already clad in my red AMNESIAC tee, tat was the closest i could get to a red tee. Upon reaching, many replicas of DARTH VADER greeted me (i am referring to those Police bus thirds from SOC clad in their full gear with Vader helmet and all, ready for war. hmmmm, police bus thirds, hmmmmmmmmm). and after going thru the ticketing gates, gosh we saw Jemaah Islami... i mean Moslems praying together, berjemaah. Prolly the Indons praying magrib and a slight favor to overturn the 2 goals deficit. By then the east entrance was closed, and upon seeing a gate upon way on top, we ran, i mean i ran like a rabid dog on acid cecah sama jamu raksamala. and so we sat behind the singapore goal post, way on top. quite nice view lah. only prob was tat, the referee prob couldnt hear all my abuses and even lionel wouldnt be able to hear my I-LOVE-YOUS to him.

and so we won. as usual lah, in the stadium, you are bound to be seated near a bunch of abang melayus cracking sillly jokes. tats what makes up part of the atmosphere. and pogo-ing with my poor cheena fren after each goal, i juz couldnt contain my excitement.

The day ended with dinner at BK bugis, and using my Krismas off-in-lieu for the following mondae. life is sweet mofo. with no mondays.

Salam Aidil Adha. Hope the sheeps manage to find their way here. MUIS shud have at least let em travel budget on AirAsia or sumtin. Geez.

Look out for my movie review, THE AVIATOR, next. Pretty disappointing actually.

I was there too Senor Elfian. I tot that Sporeans wont be interested in the Tiger Cup. Tot i cld get Grandstand tickets but they were sold out. Unbelievable. After getting my gallery ticket, I saw somethin even more interesting, Air Harimau, being distributed/sold too the Myanmar fans. HA. Beer + crazy passionate fans = fights/hooliganism/the best football game i have watched in Kallang for nearly 10 years. Towards the end of 90 mins, the 2 sets of fans began having a go with 1 another. After da flurry of redcards, Myanmar peeps were beginning to throw stuff. N after Indra's miss, they started to have a go at the local fans. Ha. Then i saw umbrella handles being thrown, dustbin covers...a flying kick aimed at another person nearly hit me. As i was abt to grab the foreigner by his throat, a lil voice in my head said NO..haha...Decided to verbally abuse that idiot instead.haha. Was joined in chorus by the others around me.hahaha.Never have i seen such passion by Sporeans in a football game. Never. Seeing T-batons being drawn reminded me of so many memories a couple of months ago.hahaha. It was a violent game...heck it even reminded me of a Div B sec school game i watched a few years ago.But it was sure a bloody good game. Rest assured that i will be there at Kallang for the final.

if you didnt go for the singapura lwn myanmar match, shame shame babu shame on you. it was the most exciting match i have ever witnessed on the sacred grounds that used to be the battlefield for hardmen like Kadir Yahya, Fandi, Sundram, Abbas, Norhalis Shafik (anyone remember him?) After witnessing this match, the countless times ive wasted precious money to cheer our national team has been forgiven. for, it was this match that got our revenge for the disapointment of SEA Games 1993. Then, we were hosts. We had a landslide victory in bodybuilding, sweeping all the medals. Ang Peng Siong got out of retirement and win a gold medal at a ripe old age. Jos was literally leaving her opponents to wet themselves. And the futbol team was in the semi, against Myanmar. There were known to be fast and nippy. But Singapura had Malek Awab, Fandi and Kadir and gang. We were up 2-o. On the way to the final, a probable showdown with perennial favorites Thailand. Sekali, Lim To The Tong Hai, had other ideas. He wanted to get on the scoresheet, and boy did he get his name on the scoresheet. He scored TWO own goals. Ok lah, no suspicions of kelong coz really, both were freak goals, can happen only 1 in a hundred, and it had to be Tong Hai's (un)lucky day. Tink we ended up with the silver. But on sunday, 2/1/2005, braving the rain (and resisting the temptation to sleep), i made my way down to the stadium. From a promised big grp, it became just a handful of us. But then, i saw like-minded peminat mati keras, long been deprived of some good futbol, turned up in droves. And it was well worth it. 2-0 down, the same exact opposite the time 12 years ago. The Yangon Boo Boys were making the most noise, just the few thousand of em. Silencing the rest of us. thought tis was gonna be another waste of 6bux. But it all changed from the 80th min onwards when Alam 'Bulldozer' Shah scored the lifeline and the rest is history. A red card, a penalty awarded, another red card, player kick mud on referee neck, yet another red card, and a missed penalty, all in that order. Nvr have i seen such fiscal fights and confrontations breaking at the slightest of incidents (cept for probably that S'pura Bahrain match). Even fans fighting at the gallery. Yikes. Is this England or wat? Hooligans, Skinheads racing and marching single file from nowhere to join in the confrontations at the left side of the gallery. Luckily it happened away from where i was. If not some burmese was going down with my (pork)chop upper cut move. MOVE BACK SIRR! And witnessing a CISCO officer whacking a with a T-baton, (tat burmese also, relak only lah no need to struggle anymore, cannot run anyway wat). Kena whack 2times at least, and left him limping. Giving true meaning to the term Police Brutality. Yikes.

Shame on you for not witnessing all these secara SIARAN LANGSUNG.
Bring on INDONESIA. Bring on your BOAS and ELYSSAS and KURNIAWANS!
