Talk a walk down memory lane

Now that the pink IC is safely in the wallet, I say it feels good to be a civilian and more importantly, an NSman. If reports in the press is to be believed, would be expecting a small durian tumble (if you know what i mean) from the good ol' big brutha of the gahmen. No more the weighty burden of carrying warrant cards (and no more of screening underage budak2 sachok smoking) and walking ard in public in police pants, always trying to cook up excuses in case any situation arises (like, oh i no police, i technician lah)

But still, 2yrs 4mths of my life has gone juz like tat. Im not really sure what i have achieved from it all. Shitty work, shitty superiors, underachieving colleagues (chaokeng kias). My brain is so rusty. It seems like all my creative juices has dried up. The work ive been doing past 2 years, didnt require any creative output from me. Juz handle NSmen. Everything is kao-tim and paka-liow. Yea these dialect lingos we pick from the service.

Still remember in 2003, the uncertainty of when was i going to be called up Everyone in my FSV cohort had received and gone in to answer the call of the motherland. But me. Had to wait till Aug, the letter came, and thank the ALmighty i was roped into police (i had that police look lah hahaha) and the bummer was i had only 2 weeks notice. Imagine, leaving the missus behind for a good 10days (nvr go away for so long mah without my precious). Good thing tho, i knew my comprande Agent Yun was going in with me. Some sense of security, but still, the fear was there. Was i going to die inside? Is it really hell? And what abt my daily routine of That 70s show and Whose Line Is It Anyway? Thank the ALmighty again, managed to go thru it all. Been there, done that.

Surprisingly, i enjoyed my time more whilst in Tracom as a trainee then when i was posted into THAT department. Then, do anything wrong, push up only lah, run around lah. When in that department, do wrong and wait for any dreaded complaint from smartass NSman or worse, be charged for it (and im not talking you paying any amt of money here). And book-out nites, how I treasured em. It really made me appreciate to see my precious on those nites. With juz that like wat, 2-3hrs, every minute spent wif her gave me the energy n enthusiasm needed for another weeek of training. If one thing i didnt like abt it, 6mths was a tad too long and we shud be allowed to go home more often. Now that would be ideal. Anyway, i guess the most impt thing i brought back from my trainee days was that i learnt how to swim. So now, nxt step is to join Joscelin Yeo's Aquatics club lah i guess.

On another note, this news i saw last week, which i found very very interesting for those into water sports, if you know what i mean (ala Whose Line Is It Anyway) -

Ricky Martin outraged over controversy caused by his 'golden shower' comment - http://sg.news.yahoo.com/060113/1/3xw0y.html

I mean, we all have our dark, weird sinister fetish. It is good for those cold rainy nites aint it. Oh yea, besides my project band GoRunRabbit Sdn Bhd, I am embarking on another one based loosely on the above subject. The band will be called Golden Shower Anarchy. We play covers of 'Fountain' of youth, and maybe a bit of Il Divo and Backstreet boys. Remember kids, recruitment is on and everyone is invited to apply!

Comments:
